1819 North Major Avenue, Chicago, IL Continental Can Company entered crown manufacturing after buying Bamberger and Kraus in 1940, and remained in that business in the United States until early 1975. Sign #1 was in use from 1940 to 1944. Sign #2 was used for a few months after the purchase of Bond Crown and Cork late in 1944. Sign #3 was in use from 1945 to 1975. Some later crowns bear no sign at all, but can be identified by the company's distinctive 3-ring plastic liner.
