| | Extra info | 1956-1970. The Standard Brewing Company merged with the Rochester Brewing Company in 1956 to form the Standard-Rochester Brewing Company. The company was being run by the son of the former Standard Brewing Company. Rumor has it the young owner greatly enjoyed the product and brought the company to financial riun. In 1970 the doors were closed forever, leaving just the Genesee Brewing Company in the Flower City. It wasn't until the micro breweries started popping up in the 1980's that Rochester once again had more than one brewery. |
