Extra info The roots of Fischer's Stiftungsbräu date back to the year 1691. At that time there were in the Upper Bavarian town of Erding Duke a brewery name "Reschbräu" which, together with five other breweries shared the brew kettle in urban brewery. A few decades later, the "Reschbräu" already had her own brew house in the middle of the old town Erdinger.
More grasped the brewery's history is only from 1838, when the postmaster Joseph Fischer, a member of the most prestigious families in Erding, took over the business, together with the associated inn. Business was good: More inns came into the possession of the family, as well as numerous farms on the outskirts of Erding were supplied. For those times, the "Postbräu" must, as the brewery was now called, have been a handsome operation.
His son, Friedrich Fischer, the art of Biersiedens remained faithful and learned brewmaster. From 1856 he headed the company and continued the success of his father. He is also one of the founding members of the Bavarian Brewers Federation, which represents the interests of Bavarian brewers today. Private had Friedrich Fischer and his wife Katharina less luck: All three children died, the family had no descendants. Therefore, the two decided to charity to use their wealth and to establish a foundation. 1891, a year after the death of Frederick fisherman fishermen's charity foundation could begin their work. She had to manage the task, the numerous lands and the brewery of the Fischer family. Thus, the financial basis for various charitable purposes should be created, but especially for the maintenance of a workhouse. From the "Postbräu" at that time was the "Fisherman's Foundation brewery" - she played within the charitable trust is the most important role, as it was economically successful and, moreover, very well known in the population and popular.
The annual production of the Foundation brewery in 1891 at 10,000 hectoliters, was delivered exclusively in barrels - subject within the city limits until 1945 oxen beer carriages. If a fresh drum pierced, rang the host with a bell, so that the neighbors knew humble and came with pitchers to get beer. It was not until the thirties, beer bottles prevailed.

Again and again was invested over the company's history in modernization measures, ranging from the electrification in 1892 up to purchasing one cooling unit. 1930 a new brewhouse was built, a new cylinder filling plant could be purchased in the early fifties. 1963 was the expansion of the fermentation cellar, a deep well secures the supply of exquisite brewing water since 1989.

Of the six former breweries in the Duke city existed in the 20th century, only two. Despite the important role of the Foundation brewery for the city and the surrounding area in the late eighties, the changes in the German beer market became noticeable. The operation of the Foundation brewery could not be maintained in its usual form.
