Extra info Founded in 1839 by the master butcher and innkeeper George Christoph Andreas From 1875, the brewery was run by Andreas Jacob, the son of the founder, moved into the building of the old Augustinian monastery was. 1880 there was a total of six breweries in Eschwege.
After the death of her husband in 1892, Jacob Elise Andreas led the company.
In 1906, Ernst Andreas joined the firm and transformed the brewery into a corporation . In subsequent years, two acquisitions were made 1912 "Bergschlößchen Brewery" (Eschwege) of Otto Brill & Co. and 1927, the "Civil Brauhaus" (was Allendorf) of Ottilie Bush adopted.
In the second half of the 20th century changed numerous technical changes to operating process. A new bottling plant (1966), other aluminum storage tanks (1970), a new brewhouse (1978) were part of this renovation and expansion measures.
Since 2003, the logistics and administration of the Eschwege monastery brewery is located in the Thuringian road. Today the monastery brewery draws its 500 tonnes of malting barley of 16 farmers of the Werra-Meissner circle. The annual production in 2009 amounted to 70,000 hl and increased 2010 to 80,000 hl.
In the period from 2009 to 2013, the Eschwege monastery brewery presented in wage brewing Duff Beer ago.
Today the Eschwege monastery brewery is still managed by the family Andreas. Ernst Andreas leads the company for 5 generations
