The brewery continued under the name Arcense Stoombierbrouwerij and from 1981, brewed again, this time only beers top-fermentation . History repeats itself, and on October 29, 1992 the Arcense brewery is annexed by the United Breweries Breda-Rotterdam / Allied Breweries Netherlands, whose name will be changed from April 5, 1993 in Oranjeboom brewery . In turn, this brewery was taken over in 1995 by the then Interbrew Netherlands (now belonging to the AB InBev group). Hertog Jan was named after the 13th century Duke John I of Brabant which, allegedly, Party held where the beer flowed freely.
