Brewer/bottler #9207 | | Name | Bermuda Triangle Brewing Ltd. |
| | | | | | | | Extra info | 1994--2002
1994 - The first brewery in Bermuda is founded by brothers Phil and Paul Mason. The opening of the brewery cost them about $ 1.5 million. They started with the production of five types of beer - Hurricane Wheat, Hammerhead Stout, Full Moon Pale Ale, Wilde Hogge Amber and Spinnaker. The latter received a silver medal at the 1996 show. Head brewer Jamie Shear came from the United States to support the nascent brewing industry in the islands. Bermuda at that time was tightly occupied by Heineken, whose distributors in every possible way opposed the appearance of new beer in local cafes, bars and supermarkets. And if in the summer there were no sales problems, then at the end of the tourist season, the Mason's business was going very badly.
2002 - the brothers were forced to stop brewing beer, failing to come to an agreement with large distributors on the supply of their beer to their retail chains. |
