Brewer/bottler #10349 | | | | | | | | | | Extra info | Established in 1861. Thomas Poulteney Griffin registered the "Griffin" trade mark on February 2, 1876, having been in use since 1871. They exported Guinness, Bass and Griffin's Sparkling Pale Ale later called Anglo Bavarian Ale. In November, 1875, Griffin took over the London & Burton Bottled Beer Company who used a Red Star Trade Mark on their Guinness and Bass beer. On January 21, 1891, they filed a Notice of Opposition to an application by Fuller, Smith and Turner for the registration of a "Griffin Passant" Trade Mark. In 1909, the company was acquired by W.A. Ross who had a bottling store in Liverpool. This may explain the T.P Griffin labels that have a Liverpool address. |
