The firm expanded by acquiring other bottling companies and John Joyce moved from Chicago to the New York area to direct East Coast operations. Two regional 7-Up bottling companies, run by John's sons, covered the Chicago area, Wisconsin and part of Illinois.
John's son, Thomas P. Joyce, joined the firm in 1959. Under Thomas' leadership, the company became the nation's largest 7-Up bottler with operations in seven states.
In 1973, the firms were merged into Joyce Beverages Inc., and John Joyce became chairman of the board.In 1984, the company was sold.
