| | | | | Extra info | The brewery was founded by Carl Fidelis Graf in 1845 outside the city walls of Sigmaringen. Due to the favorable location, it was possible to establish good contacts with the princely House of Hohenzollern . His son Hermann Graf introduced electric light to the brewery in the 1890s. His son Paul Graf built a new brewery. To this day, this building is the core of the brewery. He invested in compression chillers , changing the way beer was made by doing away with beaten ice and allowing year-round refrigeration.
His son Hermann and brother-in-law Alexander Fleischhut survived the turmoil of war with the brewery and invested in the brew and storage cellar and the construction of a bottling plant.
After studying brewing at the Weihenstephan Science Center , Peter Fleischhut joined the brewery in the 1960s. Before retiring due to illness in 2002, he remodeled the brewery several times. With 45 employees, his daughter Claudia Sieben, the current owner in the sixth generation, together with managing director Ralf Rakel, produces and sells beers and non-alcoholic beverages worldwide. In addition to Germany, which accounts for the largest part of total sales, these include other European countries, China and Russia. [2 |
