| | | | | Type | Beer Product Bottler |
| | | Extra info | Before 1960, Dahomey (now Benin) did not have any brewery.
The first overseas brewery company (SOBRADO), entirely made up of foreign capital, was created in 1957. It was a branch of the Brewery of Ivory Coast (BRACODI) which imported drinks from Ivory Coast to resell them in Dahomey. This made it possible to deliver products to Dahomey under the name Société de Brasserie du Dahomey (SOBRADA). It is from 1960 that the company name becomes SOBRADO. In 1972, it was nationalized and became La Béninoise in 1975. La Béninoise in turn was bought by the French Group Brasserie et Glacière International (Castel-BGI) since January 6, 1992 in the name of SOBEBRA. |
