| | | | | | | | Extra info | In 1892, Vilmos Freud Tószeghy founded the Kobányai Polgári Serfozdét (Kobányai Civil Brewery), and in 1894 the factory was put into operation. The products of the new brewery quickly conquered the consumer public and in 1896, they were also awarded a certificate of honor at the Millennium Exhibition. In addition to the Hungarian market, Serfozde's products were also exported abroad, which later led to international recognition, such as winning a grand prize at the 1900 Paris World Exhibition.
Their most popular products were Szent István Double Malát, Barát, Kiviteli Márciusi, Porter and Király beer.
After the First World War, in 1922, Szent István Tápszermuvek merged with Serfozde, and the Kobányai Polgári Serfozét and Szent István Tápszermuvek Rt.
The company, which grew to be huge, was broken up after the Second World War. |
