| | | | | Extra info | Founded in 1852 in San Francisco, California by Ernest G. Lyons, Lyons Magnus was initially named E.G. Lyons & Co. and was a wholesale seller of wines, liquors, syrups, cordials, and bitters. In 1889 the company name changed to E.G. Lyons & Raas Co. as a resulte of E.G. Lyons' daughter's marriage to a Raas family son. Grenadine Syrup was the original product packed under the Lyons brand and was followed by Lyons Root Beer, popular throughout the West during the early and middle 20th century.
In 1907, Magnus Fruit Products Co. sold fruits for candy manufacturers, baker and confectionary supply houses. In 1929, E.G. Lyons & Raas Co. merged with Magnus Fruit Products Co. to become Lyons-Magnus, Inc. In 1989, the company headquarters were moved to Fresno, CA where they remain to this day. |
