They were incorporated as Orange Crush Bottling Co. in July of 1937. A new plant was situated on the western side of Littleton on U. S. Highway 158 between Roanoke Rapids and Warrenton and across from the tracks of the Seaboard Air Line Railway.
The McPherson Brothers had franchises in the following North Carolina counties: Vance, Warren, Halifax, Northampton, Hertford, Gates, Bertie, Chowan, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Camden, Currituck and Dare and in five counties in Virginia: Greenville Southampton, Mecklenburg, Brunswick and Lunenburg.
When the law made it legal to sell beer in North Carolina, the McPhersons were among the first bottlers in the State to secure agencies from some of the leading beer manufacturers in the country and use their warehouses at Littleton, Elizabeth City and Ahoskie.
