Extra info The popular soft drink factory named La Jupiña was established in June 6, 1905 under the name of Ramon Gonzalez and Moises Guerra González del Pino. On June 25 of that year the company was dissolved, leaving as sole owner Moises Gonzalez del Pino who sold it to Mr. Juan Montes Crespo , a native of Spain, for the amount of 1300.00 Spanish gold stamps. For this reason Mr. Juan Montes was registered as Industrial in the new establishment under the trade names The Pinareña and Cotorra on August 27, 1907.
In this factory, mineral and aerated waters were produced under the brand, La Pinareña.
After some time in mid-1921, Mr. Montes leased the factory to Eliodoro Gil Cruz, for a period of three years, through a contract with an expiration date on 4 June 1923. This contract lease also included machinery and other equipment for a total of 1300.00 pesos. The machines that were installed at the factory during the lease period would benefit Mr. Montes with the termination of the contract, who would head the direction of the factory during that time for a monthly salary of 100 pesos .
Years later this factory would become the producer of the nationally famous soft drink "La Jupiña". With acceptance of this tasty drink this industry grew in Pinar del Rio with enough to have a fleet of trucks for distribution.
