| | | Extra info | The company was founded in 1893 with the purpose of opening up the sources in Riardo, which were already used by the Romans in antiquity. In 1925, Ferrarelle became the property of the Sangemini family, which already operates in the mineral water business, Violati, thus creating the Società Sangemini-Ferrarelle.
In 1987, the Violati family sold the company to a consortium consisting of the French Danone Group, then still BSN, and the Ifil of the Agnelli family. In 1991 Ifil withdrew its stake in Società Sangemini-Ferrarelle to Danone. The company Italaquae S.p.A. was born in August 1991, when BSN decided to change the name of the subsidiary "Società Sangemini-Ferrarelle. In 1992, the Società delle Acque e delle Terme di Boario was integrated. At the same time, the Sangemini and Fabia brands were removed from the company and sold. In early 2005, Italaquae was sold to the Italian LGR Holding and renamed Ferrarelle SpA. |
