Brewer/bottler #6400 | | | | | | | | | | Extra info | Adolfo Kalhardt Bauer, was the owner and founder of the Elqui Brewery which was located in Condell Street Vicuña, a city that is 62 km. east of La Serena and 532 km. north of Santiago. Bauer was Mayor of Vicuña, and during his tenure, the famous tower known as Torre Bauer was built. It is a building of 28 m. height, which was designed and prefabricated in Germany and sought to replicate the medieval towers of Ulm (birthplace of Bauer). The wooden structure was brought by ship and was completed in 1905 to assemble This building was the symbol of the brewery, and with the passage of time has become the symbol of the city. |
