His widow, Marina Barasorda, decided to sell the company to the Pérez-Yarza family with whom Schumann had business relations. The brewery remained in the hands of this family until it closed in 1978. In July 2014 one group of developers led by Jon Ruiz Vizcaya announced their intention to relaunch the brand, along with the Pérez-Yarza family, who had been responsible for the company's beers La Salve since 1910.
