In 1488 the owner of the Lorenz Glatz estate was allowed to cook and drink except black beer and barley and white beer. It was even rumored that Emperor Rudolph II himself. gave Jirkov's beer priority over others. Already in the 16th century, Jirkovské beer was known all over the place. In 1554 he bought the estate of Kryštof from Karlovice, and he called to the town Saxon workers and masters, with whom he had assigned the legionary houses, which were the property of the manor, but until then they had used the Jirkov townspeople. They lost part of the profits from brewing beer. The Berus' run of 1654 states that "trades and crafts are trades and beer sales are good, Jirkovsky names and semtam until the cities of Prague are unloading, the malts to German and elsewhere are selling ..." There were four municipalities and one master brewery. In 1841 a new burgery brewery was built by a ninety-member brewery, because it was not enough since 1443. The most famous local beer was named Jirkovský Rytír (Jirkovský Knight). The brewery was abolished in 1976. |
